Tango Leike
"The Soul of Buenos Aires, the Heart of Italian Craftsmanship"
The Story
Tango Leike was born from a personal story: Fernando J. Eidis, Argentine by birth and Milanese by adoption, was immersed in Milan's milonga scene when a friend who organised events told him something simple and true: "We have the milongas, we have the ladies — but we don't have the shoes."
Fernando returned to Buenos Aires for in-depth research into materials, lasts, and construction. He produced the first prototypes, brought them to Europe, and sold them directly at the milongas. The name Leike is his mother's name: a personal tribute that carries with it the warmth of Buenos Aires.
Today Tango Leike is an entirely Made in Italy brand — handmade in the Segrate atelier, distributed from Milan — with its tanguero soul fully intact. Each model is built with the same artisan philosophy as the old Buenos Aires zapaterías: a soft leather sole precisely calibrated for the pivot, a heel positioned at the dancer's centre of gravity, an upper that embraces without gripping.
From the main brand grew **MilongueroLAB**, the extreme comfort line designed for those with difficult feet or who want to dance for hours without pain: the only line in the tango segment specifically engineered for hallux valgus and the orthopaedic needs of the milonguera.
"100% passion. 100% quality. Handmade."
"100% Argentine passion, 100% Italian quality — handmade, as it used to be."
